Hi
First at all let me thank oliver for this great work, really thanks man
all right, i just started to use OGS about two weeks ago, i haven't noticed until yesterday night that i was getting some extrange behavior with OGS...
First the VS indicator on PFD are missing here is a shot
I am running OGS in a laptop with an Intel 945GM graphic chipset (Win XP SP3 and graphic driver up to date) connected to FS 2004 through WideFS.
I have noticed that my OGS ND is out of sync with FS data, by example when using MAP mode the HDG is 2 degrees less than in FS (FS 737's ND shows 52 while OGS's ND shows 50) this happen during fly. In APP mode the OGS runway indicator shows that the aircraft is slightly deviated to the left while the aircraft is almost on the center of the runway (tested on SVMG RWY 09 and SVMI RWY 10 airports).
Thanks in advance
I'm using AIRAC cycle 0805 |

Hi!
What do you mean by VS indicator is missing ??? it's there on the picture.
The needle indicate a bit less than 1000fpm and the setpoint is the pink dot on the 0.
The indicator in the ND is the TRACK, it includes the wind correction, depending on your True speed, wind speed, and wind direction relative to aircraft.
From the wind indication on the ND, I see you have a front wind slightly tilted which could perfectly explain a 2 degree difference.
In the ND, you get both the indication of the TRACK (main line) and heading (small triangle). Please check.
Thanks for the feedback

Hi Oliver, thanks for the quit response
i must apologize, I didn't mean that VS indicator was failling... is the IAS indicator.
Well some time an image talks better than many words so I upload some images with comments in order to you see what is happening in my OGS installation
These are from a test flight from SVMI to SVMG using FS default 737-400, avionics are set to use NAV instead of GPS..
This is how OGS start and remains until i setup and load the flight (putting the aircraft on the airport)
This one is when pushing back the aircraft
This one was taken during flying, i also took a picture of FS ND in order to you compare
This one is what really makes me think something is wrong with my OGS setup or AIRAC data (i don't know)... as you can see the aircraft is on the middle of the runway but OGS shows that is a bit to the left
I really think the problem is not OGS (due another screenshot i've seen on you main page) but after hours of digging i was unable to figure out was happening...
once and again: FS 2004, AIRAC Cycle 0806 (updated from 0805), Intel 945GM graphic card, no internet connection
Thanks in advance |

Hello,
Let's summarize : you are using FS2004, and probably connecting using IOCPserver, right ?
The problems you have seems to come from the TAS and mach calculation being false, that's why you have a crazy number for the TRACK value (calculation of track use the TAS).
By default, IOCPserver is not properly configured. You have to change some value for the precision of mach, temperatures in a IOCPserver configuration file. This is indicated in the OGS documentation, read it carefuly and tell me if it gets better.
Best regards

Oliver i'm not using IOCPServer (Actually i don't use IOCards)
I'm using WideFS AND FSUICP...
I also have installed a demo of FsXpand into FS2004, don't know if FSXpand dll server may be causing this behavior on OGS...
I'll completely uninstall FsXpand (i don't needed anyway, OGS is just great) and try same fly test...
Well, i'm also waitting for my new FSX copy, it should arrive on next week...
does OGS work with FSX???
Thanks.... |

Hi !
Strange, the behaviour you describe was not observed with FSUIPC connection ... Still seems to be linked to the calculation of the TRACK.
How do you send the MCP values to OGS (Speed, Heading, ...) ? The setpoints in the OGS PFD screens read 0 ...
I have no idea about Fsxpand possible interaction with OGS, it has not been reported previously.
OGS is "more or less" compatible with FSX, most feature work. However, as you may have seen on the website and in the forum, we are now testing a full FSX version (OGX) which is much more advanced.

Yeah... this is a little wear, unfortunely i don't have another pc to test OGS (by now)...
I always set MCP values through FS 2D Cockpit (using the mouse). But i just use MCP for setting COURSE for navigation or ILS App... i mainly fly by hand without using autopilot (this way is a little exhausting but funny).
That's why PFD set points are 0 in the pictures.
I'll keep doing some other tests and drop you a note in case a find something usefull
Well as many others i'm waiting impatiently to put my hands over OGX...
Keep the good work man and thanks for your time |
