In case you want to support us, you can make donations here, in order to help us buy software and hardware for development.
Opencockpits, a wonderfull site with plenty of solutions.
New !! On the trick page : saving inputs on your Interface Card
A new trick has been added to the trick page : save inputs on your interface card by using a different wiring scheme in some cases. As an example, an 8 position switch, as the EFIS range switch, can be rewired to use 3 inputs for 8 positions.
IOCARD software developement kit (SDK)
During the development of OGX, we have been faced with the need of a direct access to IOCARDS. If you are interested in a SDK that allows you to directly drive the IOCARDS from most programming languages (C, C++, Visual Basic, etc...), you may want to contact us.
A new version for FSX is under way. Called OGX, OGS for FSX has a totally new structure and is opened to any harware through a SDK.
Our seek for beta testers has not been very fruitful: we have received very few help and no bug reports, so we will continue at our own pace. We are now in doubt whether releasing software for free is a good idea, in view of the very few support we have received.
Definitely, it seems that people are more prone to send feedback when they have paid for a software, so maybe going payware will allow for more feedback. We'll see ...
New in this release :
- TCAS
- NDB display
- Gauge movement smoothing
- Larger ND display
- Autopilot CWS mode
- Control of all gauge luminosity
The OGX SDK is now operationnal, in the form of a DLL which can be called from any usual programming language. You can then connect OGX to any hardware. We have also developed another SDK which allow to make direct connection to IOCARDS (usb expansion , servos ans usb keys at the present time, soon including steeper motor cards). This will allow us to propose our homemade compiler based on very different approach than SIOC, for controlling the hardware connected to our softwares.
Many ideas, few spare time ... However, it seems that FSX is slowly being adopted by cockpit builders as a replacement for FS9, so our delay for that release just let people time to make the transition ;-)
Current release : OGS 1.20 for FS9
You can now link OGS to your hardware using the popular IOCARDS. From your EFIS switches, change the ND range, the navaids displays, and all like in the real thing ...
We try to constantly improve the features, and come closer to reality. We pay great attention to the feedback we get on the forum to upgrade OGS. We thank all of you that took the time to drop us their comments.
New in this release :
- Metric altitude display and setpoint
- Angle Of Attack (AOA) indicator
- Flight Path Vector (FPV) display
- Track/Heading in PFD/ND
- Rising runway
- Keyboard handling changed
Cockpitware Activities
Our goal is to develop different elements, hardware and software, for home cockpit realisation. The philosophy here is that home cockpits elements are sold at prices which are much too high to allow for a rapid development of the activity. We want to act, like some others, towards supplying inexpensive solutions, in order that our hobby can spread more ...
The site has opened on December 20, 2006, and will slowly expand. We begin with a Glass flightdeck software. The full package will contain the Primary Flight Display (PFD) and the Navigation Display (ND), MCP, FMC and EICAS/plane control logic software.
